Youngstock

This is where the breeding programme becomes testable.

IMG_1741.JPG

Pedigree gives us a starting hypothesis. Development, movement, temperament, health, independent assessment and, eventually, performance in sport tell us whether the evidence supports that hypothesis.

We therefore keep a longitudinal record rather than presenting a young horse through one perfect photograph or one flattering video.

Petra

PETRA JDE

Grey 2024 filly

THE EVIDENCE FILE

VERIFIED: Petra JDE is a mare by Future Guilty Pleasure out of Flairginia PF.

OBSERVED: Petra is sociable and people-oriented, with an expressive, floating trot and a naturally composed manner.

INTERPRETATION: Petra was initially viewed primarily through an eventing lens. As more evidence from Flairginia's maternal family emerged, and as Petra's own movement developed, dressage has become a credible pathway as well.

LUCK: Her mature balance, straightness, canter, jumping aptitude and ridden response remain future evidence points.

CURRENT WORKING HYPOTHESIS: Keep both dressage and eventing pathways open until

the horse provides enough evidence to narrow them.

Venus

VENUS

Chestnut 2025 filly

THE EVIDENCE FILE

VERIFIED: Venus is a chestnut mare by Future Guilty Pleasure out of Flairginia PF.

OBSERVED: Venus is bold, curious and physically expressive, with an uphill tendency in movement, an active trot and a naturally good canter.

INTERPRETATION: At present she reads as an interesting eventing prospect: athletic, forward-thinking and comfortable using her body at speed.

LUCK: Independent assessment, mature frame, jumping aptitude and eventual ridden response will matter far more than any label applied as a yearling.

CURRENT WORKING HYPOTHESIS: Eventing is the leading pathway, but it remains a hypothesis to be tested.
